Owen is one of the founding members of our firm and practices corporate and business law including advising companies in connection with day-to-day corporate matters as well as transactions involving purchases and sales of businesses, equity and debt financing, joint ventures and the like. His services include advice on international transactions including joint ventures involving foreign partners. Owen has represented clients in a number of different industries including companies involved in the manufacture of medical devices, foam packaging, marine products, tool and die products, software services companies, security companies, utility products companies, automobile dealers, insurance agencies, thoroughbred horse racing entities, billboard companies, food service and restaurant operations, real estate companies and a variety of other manufacturing and service companies. He has also acted as counsel for buyers and sellers of commercial real estate as well as landlords and tenants in the leasing of commercial properties. He has also represented foreign companies in setting up subsidiaries in the United States.
Owen also works with the firm’s tax department in connection with corporate tax planning as well as tax and estate planning for individuals.
Owen is AV-rated by the Martindale Hubbell legal directory, its highest rating for legal ability and professional ethics. He also serves in a number of charitable organizations. He is Treasurer and a longtime Director of the One Hundred Club of Massachusetts which provides benefits to widows and children of police and fire department personnel who are killed in the line of duty. He is also one of the founders of the Boston College Club, a private dining facility in downtown Boston, and serves as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Governors of the Club. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Boston College Campus School for multi-handicapped children as well as the Advisory Board of St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, Massachusetts. He is active in the American Ireland Fund.
