Lisa focuses on the areas of tax and estate planning, with experience in related probate, real estate, business and family law matters. Lisa’s estate planning practice includes the preparation of core estate planning documents for domestic and foreign individuals and their families whose needs range from simple wills and trusts to more sophisticated wealth preservation structures, such as irrevocable life insurance trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, intra-family loans, and sales of business interests to intentionally defective grantor trusts. She helps Massachusetts, Florida and New York individuals develop estate plans tailored to their particular circumstances, with an eye to state-specific nuances that may impact their overall planning.
Lisa works closely with clients and their advisors to ensure that the tax planning structures associated with their estate plans are fully implemented. She prepares fiduciary income tax returns and complex individual income tax returns, gift tax returns, and federal and state tax filings for tax-exempt organizations, and, when appropriate, she provides assistance to clients’ tax return preparers to ensure that transactions are properly reported.
Lisa’s experience in trust and estate administration includes representing estates in all stages of the probate process and preparing of the estate tax return, advising clients on post-mortem tax planning techniques, preparation of accounts, and serving as a trustee and trust protector. She also facilitates succession planning for closely-held businesses, including matters such as the formation of family partnerships, lifetime transfers of business interests, and buy-sell agreements.
Lisa was a partner at Lynch, Brewer, Hoffman & Fink, LLP, prior to founding Lynch Fink & Labelle LLP. She has been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyers® Rising Star in the area of Taxation and obtained her LL.M. in taxation, with an emphasis on estate planning, from Boston University Law School’s Graduate Tax Program.
